What is the Fall Foliage Tour?

The Rocky Fawcett Fall Foliage Tour is an annual drive-it-yourself tour featuring attractions, experiences, and businesses while immersing you in Lewis County’s beauty – our abundant clear skies and open spaces. The Fall Foliage Tour focuses on a different portion of Lewis County each year.

The 51st Annual Fall Foliage Tour will be held on Saturday, October 7th! The Tour will feature attractions, experiences, and businesses in Southern Lewis County! View the Tour Guide & see who’s included below!

Discover Tug Hill and the Lewis County Recreation, Forestry & Parks Department are teaming up to host Love My Trails Month in Lewis County, NY! Over the month of September, trail-goers and community members are encouraged to hit their favorite trails & clean up any garbage!

The Meat Canner of Lewis County is a community project that brings together people from across Lewis County to can meat that will be distributed to food pantries around the region (Lewis, Jefferson, and St. Lawrence Counties) and the world. The date for this year’s meat canner event is April 13 – 14, 2023.

Osceola Ski & Sport Resort

Registration is live! Tug Hill Outfitters is hosting a fun, challenging, yeti themed adventure race on Saturday, January 28, 2023, in Osceola, NY.

There will be 2 – 3 hour (snowshoe or cross country ski races) and 2 – 8 hour (snowshoe or snowshoe/ski races). Teams will navigate the course using only a map and compass, no GPS allowed, and compete to see who can find the most checkpoints in the least amount of time. If teams don’t make it back before the time cut-off, they will lose 1 checkpoint for every minute they’re late. A long sleeve performance race T-shirt, 1 set of maps (per team with the option to purchase an extra set during registration), post race snacks & pizza, hot chocolate, and one craft beer per person, is included in the registration price. Team sizes can range from 1-6 people (cap of 4 people for adult teams, but families can race with up to 6 people).This race has something for everyone, from families and newcomers, to competitive adventure racers and orienteering teams who are looking for a fun challenge in a cool place! If you’re into trail running, hiking, geocaching, treasure hunting, or have seen Eco Challenge Fiji on Amazon, this race and the sport of adventure racing are for you! We’ve got some serious fun in store for you, from a lively prologue to some exciting on course surprises! Are you yeti?

Little Salmon Farm | Parish, NY

Join us for the 2nd annual CNY Fall Adventure Challenge, on Sunday, October 2nd, 2022. This 3 hour orienteering challenge/mini adventure race, trekking/hiking only, will offer fun for all, from families to serious racers looking for a challenge. You’ll be navigating through woods and fields to find hidden checkpoints using only a topographic map and compass. The team that finds the most checkpoints in the least amount of time will be the winner! There’ll be plenty of on and off-trail navigation. We’ll be offering a pre-race navigation clinic for anyone new to map and compass navigation.
We are SO excited about this year’s race location! We’ll be hosting the race at Little Salmon Farm in Parish, NY. They’ll have their fall pumpkin activities in full swing (corn maze, pumpkins for sale, sweet treats). They have a beautiful farm and property to explore. After the race you’ll have time to do all of the fall farm activities while drinking some delicious Lunkenheimer Craft Beer and a late lunch (both included with registration). This is a 1.5k “Run” (21 & over only) Fundraising Event for the Hand-in-Hand Daycare Center in Lowville, NY. Participants can Run, Walk, Ski (on grass & must bring own skis) or be extra “LAZY” and pay an extra $5 registration fee at the door to be “VIP” driven around the course on a trolley!

Please join us for our U-Pick weekend events at The Farm! We are offering u-pick pumpkins and flowers on two different weekends for the public. They are Sept 17/18 from 10a-2p and Oct 1/2 from 10a-2p. Pumpkin stand by farm will be open daily starting Sept 1. – end of our pumpkin season. Stroll through the patch and search for the perfect pumpkins for your family and pull them off the vine or select one already picked for you!! U-pick cost is $10.00 per person regardless of size pumpkin and includes one flower pick (while supplies last). U-pick flower cost is $2.00 per stem sunflower. $0.50 per stem other flowers. Build a bouquet offered both days at check out.
