Houps Acres Deer Farm

Houps Acres Deer Farm, Castorland, is owned by Russ and Judy Houppert. They are well-known for raising whitetail deer. Starting with just eight fawns, they now have about one hundred head of whitetail deer, twenty large Rocky Mountain elk, mule deer, Sitka, and fallow deer, and big horn sheep. Russ and Judy raise, and sell breeding stock all over New York State.

They bottle feed whitetail babies in the summer, allowing visitors to get close enough to handle them. They also raise swans, peacocks, and silki chickens.

Visitors are welcome to come and tour the farm, take pictures, and watch the animals. Arrangements can be made for groups to spend the day learning about the various animals on the farm and their habitats.
